Beyoncé
There’s rich, there’s famous, and then there’s Beyoncé.
In 1997, Beyoncé debuted with Destiny’s Child.
By 2003, she’d already gone solo, dropped Dangerously in Love, and won five Grammys.
But music was just the beginning…
In 2010, she launched Parkwood Entertainment.
An all-in-one media company that would fund, produce, and distribute her projects.
Parkwood would go on to produce Lemonade (2016), Black Is King (2020), Homecoming (2019), Renaissance (2022), and Cowboy Carter (2024).
It also launched the careers of Chloe x Halle, signed under her label.
In 2013, she dropped BEYONCÉ on iTunes at midnight.
It sold 617,000 copies in three days and became the fastest-selling album in iTunes history.
Then, in 2018, she headlined Coachella.
She brought 200+ Black musicians and dancers on stage.
She paid tribute to HBCUs, Malcolm X, Nina Simone, Fela Kuti, and the Divine Nine.
And she became the first Black woman to headline Coachella.
In 2015, Uber offered her $6 million to perform.
She said: I’ll take that in stock.
When Uber went public, her shares were reportedly worth $9 million.
In 2024, she launched Cécred, a science-backed, stylist-tested haircare line.
But she didn’t just sell products.
She launched an annual $500K grant program for cosmetologists and salon owners.
25 stylists a year now receive $10,000 each to grow their businesses.
Now the performances.
The 2023 Renaissance Tour was the highest-grossing tour by a female artist in history.
It generated $4.5 billion in U.S. economic impact, more than the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
She also signed a $50M deal with Pepsi and became spokesperson for L’Oréal, Verizon, American Express, H&M, and Tiffany & Co.
Finally, let’s talk philanthropy.
In 2013, she launched BeyGOOD, her non-profit foundation.
Since then:
- $1.5M to civil rights groups including BLM and the Trayvon Martin Foundation
- $6M to mental health support during COVID-19
- $2.5M to California wildfire relief in 2025
- Funded scholarships, cosmetology grants, disaster aid, and more across the U.S., Africa, the Caribbean, and beyond
She’s been named one of TIME’s Most Influential People three times.
And with 35 Grammy wins and 99 nominations, she holds the record as the most awarded artist in Grammy history.
Beyoncé owns her brand.
She owns her narrative.
And she owns the data, the content, the distribution, and the outcome.
